WHAT WE DO

Our projects are currently contained within two fields: period poverty and literacy.

Project Overview:

The Happy Monthlies Project is aimed at ending period poverty and promoting menstrual health management among girls and women in Ghana. The project seeks to address the systemic inequalities and social norms that perpetuate menstrual stigma, shame, and exclusion.

Project Objectives:

  • Provide access to affordable and sustainable menstrual products for girls and women in need.
  • Promote menstrual health education and awareness among girls, women, and communities.
  • Challenge and change harmful social norms and practices that perpetuate menstrual stigma and shame.
  • Empower girls and women to take control of their menstrual health and well-being.

Key Activities:

  • Distribution of Menstrual Products – Providing reusable pads and other menstrual hygiene products to underserved communities.
  • Educational Workshops – Conducting menstrual health awareness sessions for girls, women, and communities.
  • Advocacy & Community Engagement – Addressing harmful social norms through public outreach and education.
  • Partnerships – Collaborating with schools, communities, and organizations to promote menstrual health initiatives.

Target Beneficiaries:

  • Girls & women in rural and urban areas of Ghana.
  • Girls & women facing economic hardships with limited access to menstrual products.
  • Girls and women with disabilities or special needs.

Project Impact:

  • Improved access to menstrual products and education for girls and women.
  • Reduced menstrual-related stigma, shame, and exclusion.
  • Empowered girls and women to take control of their menstrual health and well-being.
  • Contributed to a more inclusive and equitable society for girls and women in Ghana.
